Someone very special sent this to me, I think everyone should read it, it opens up your eyes a lot..
In order to set apart in your mind if what youre feeling is really love as opposed to infatuation, you need to clearly define the difference between the two.
Infatuation is instant desire, but it also comes with a distinct feeling of insecurity. It brings excitement, but not tangible happiness. Infatuation does not cultivate feelings of loyalty, patience, confidence or trust. The danger with infatuation is that it can bring about sexual desire and lust which is not the emotional plan that God has designed for you in the way of a healthy progression toward marriage.
Love on the other hand is friendship that has ignited! It grows through having developed a solid foundation, one day at a time. Love takes the good, the bad, and the ugly and accepts the imperfection of the other person. Love is not based on sex. Love waits to mature the friendship, loyalty and confidence of the other person. Love is patient, and it doesnt panic when things dont come together exactly as we would have planned. Because love builds mutual trust, it breaks down any barriers of insecurity that would ordinarily be present in a relationship that is built on infatuation.
Sometimes our best service to those we love is to simply stand by, be silent, be hopeful, be understanding, and wait.
